Freedom Ministry - WEEKLY FOLLOW THROUGH

Homework! The reason our life doesn’t change is because we refuse to do the hard things that bring change. Each week, we ask participants to spend time doing at least two things.

1. PERSONAL REFLECTION:

It does little good to process all this content in one setting if you don’t take it home and dig deeper through reflection and prayer. The Personal Reflection questions are designed for participants to consider the how, what, why, and where the Freedom Journey is inviting them to go.

2. COMMITMENT TO CHANGE

This is a recovery tool that is intended to help people understand the emotional cost of not changing as well as changing. In other words, “what will it cost you if you don’t change?” and “what will it cost you if you do change?” Both those questions are valid and need to be understood. The fact is, either way, it will cost you something, so why not change for the better?

Below are the personal reflection questions from Session 1. The Commitment to Change prompts remain the same for each section, but the responses are a reflection of the content participants have processed.

ACTION: Personal Reflection:

My big takeaway:

1. How do I see myself (An honest reflection on how you view yourself now)?

2. What part of my identity is not grounded in who I am in Christ?

3. What part of my past is trying to define my present negatively?

4. How can I walk in my new identity this week?

MEMORIZE:

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, set their mind on the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace…  Romans 8:5-6
